The Cotswolds is our home and the coast is where we spend holidays, long weekends and visit family. Our dream has always been to bring the taste of the sea back with us, and now we are doing just that. My first restaurant job in 1998 opened my eyes to the variety of fish and seafood available from our shores. I still remember trying my first scallop, the hesitation when being handed a fresh, live oyster and the ugly beauty of a magnificent Monkfish.
Food creates memories and we want our fine produce to evoke memories of your times by the coast, all from the beauty of the Cotswolds.
Why buy from us
Our mission is to combine a bespoke, personal and quality service that matches the standard of our wonderful fish and seafood. We are not here to compete with the supermarkets, we will go above and beyond to make your fish buying experience the best you have had. We want to learn your buying habits and tastes, for you to be able to call us and discuss your requirements in detail so we can always be your first choice for fish.
We work closely with a small selection of suppliers from the UK, as well as visiting the four main quayside markets of Devon and Cornwall. We also work with some of the finest farms and smoke houses from the south coast, to the north of Scotland. Deliveries arrive with us 3 or 4 days a week so we can guarantee you the freshest produce.
The sustainability of the worlds seas and oceans is of huge importance so wherever possible we source from smaller day boats, to minimise the impact on our precious waters. All our suppliers share our ethos for careful management of what is caught and when, ensuring fish is there for future generations.
Not only does our industry have a duty to preserve and nurture the stocks of fish, we also need to look at the bigger picture and what happens further along the supply chain. Many fish suppliers send out their produce in polystyrene boxes that go straight to landfill. Where possible we only use recyclable packaging and will limit single use plastics wherever possible.
